Dance ClassDescription
Street Dance is a freestyle dance, which incorporates other styles including Hip Hop, Breakdance and House. Our Street Dance Classes will introduce you to these core street styles, put them into practice with exciting choreography, and help you learn to improvise with confidence. Street Dance is also a great way to get the heart pumping and dance your way to fitness.
Classical Ballet is the basis for all types of dance. It develops posture, strength, body placement and proper dance technique. Savvy Studios follows the IDTA exam syllabus which is internationally recognised for its high standards however pupils do not need to take exams to attend the classes.
Lyrical dance is a style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song. This style concentrates on an individual approach and expressiveness of such emotions as love, joy, and anger. This form of dance focuses on the expressive nature of the performance and is therefore suitable for all levels and abilities.
Contemporary is a style of dance that stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, using gravity to pull them down to the floor. This dance genre is often done in bare feet and can be performed to many different styles of music
