Location: Savvy Studios, STUDIO III, Hayle, Cornwall

Hours: Full-time, 35–40 hours per week (daytime only, primarily Monday to Friday)

Pay: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour + performance-based bonus
Start: Immediate

About the Role

Savvy Studios is looking for a talented, motivated chef to take full ownership of the food and coffee offering within our beautifully designed Coffee Barre.

This is not a standard café role. It is a chef-led position with real creative and commercial responsibility, where you will design, build and grow a fresh, healthy food concept within a thriving dance studio environment.

The Coffee Barre is positioned to become a destination for high-quality coffee and simple, nutritious food and you will play a central role in shaping that success.

This is a permanent, year-round position with the opportunity to grow and develop the Coffee Barre as part of a long-term vision.

The Opportunity

This role offers something rare in hospitality:

  • Full-time hours with no evenings
  • Creative control over the menu and food direction
  • The opportunity to build and grow a concept from the ground up
  • Performance-based bonus linked to revenue growth and success

You won’t just be preparing food, you’ll be building something and sharing in its success.

The Role

You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Coffee Barre, with a strong focus on the food offering.

Working within a compact, well-designed space, you will:

  • Create a simple, high-quality, healthy menu
  • Ensure it is efficient, commercially viable and easy to execute
  • Prepare fresh food daily to a consistently high standard

Alongside this, you will serve excellent coffee and create a welcoming, professional environment for both studio members and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and owning the Coffee Barre menu
  • Preparing fresh, healthy food daily
  • Ensuring the menu is efficient, commercially viable and scalable
  • Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and organisation
  • Preparing and serving high-quality coffee
  • Creating a positive, welcoming customer experience
  • Contributing to the growth and success of the Coffee Barre

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working as a chef or in a food-led role (essential)
  • Proven experience creating or contributing to menus (essential)
  • Strong understanding of fresh, healthy food and efficient preparation
  • Someone who enjoys building and developing a food offering
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently
  • A practical, hands-on approach with high standards

Barista experience is desirable, but not essential — training can be provided.

Important

This is a food-led role with genuine responsibility.

You will be expected to take ownership of the menu and play an active role in the commercial success of the Coffee Barre.

Working Environment

You’ll be joining a family-run business with a strong and supportive team behind you. While you’ll have real ownership of the Coffee Barre, you’ll also have ongoing support, collaboration and input as the concept develops.

What Makes This Role Special

  • Full-time daytime hours (no evenings or split shifts)
  • A permanent, stable role within a growing business
  • The opportunity to build and shape a food concept from the ground up
  • A beautifully designed, newly renovated Coffee Barre
  • Performance-based bonus linked to growth and success
  • A creative, energetic and community-driven environment
  • Free access to studio classes
  • On-site parking
  • 4 minute walk from Hayle train station.
