Acro is a challenging and exciting dance style where dancers blend musicality, emotional expression with acrobatic movements in a dance context. It is known by various other names including acrobatic dance and gymnastic dance, though it is most commonly referred to simply as Acro by dancers and dance professionals.

This style of dance is physically demanding and requires dancers to be trained in both dance and acrobatic skills. Acro movements include balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, using flexibility, contortion and strength.

A fundamental and key element of Acro is employing safe technique and this is at the heart of all classes taught at Savvy Studios. The classes include a great deal of strength and conditioning exercises along with stretching to allow the students to perform the skills effectively and safely.
